Good from the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development's
financing and venture capital programs to help you make sense
of the opportunities available and how they might apply to your
business.
Not every business is a good candidate for venture capital, and
even if they are viable, many do not choose to pursue this avenue
for funding.
So
what are the alternatives to VC money? The answer depends on the
nature and size of your business, as well as how you plan to apply
the financing. Will the financing be used for "bricks and mortar"
needs, i.e. purchasing a building, refitting lab space, or building
out your current space? Or do you need assistance leasing capital
equipment, training employees, or taking a critical step to get
your product to market? Your answers to these questions will guide
you to the best avenues to pursue for help. But even after you've
gone through these steps, how do you know which bank to approach?
Are there government programs, state or local, that could be of
assistance? And if so, how do you get in the door? Is there money
available in that $50K to $200K range that is often so important
to the early stage company?
Register
quickly - the session is limited to 20.
Note: You do not need to be a GBTC member to participate,
but members will receive precedence.
