Face2Face Sold Out

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Our Face2Face dinner with Christian Johansson has sold out in less than 4 days.

On Friday, January 29th, Christian was appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley as Secretary of MD DBED. Christian Johansson joins DBED from Continental Equity, a private equity firm in Baltimore, where as Managing Director he focused on investing in diverse-owned companies and teams. Prior to that, Johansson served as President and CEO of the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, a public-private partnership that markets Central Maryland for new investment. He has also served as Senior Consultant for Sag Harbor Group in New York, and is Co-founder of inka.net, a customer relationship management enterprise software company, and Dola Health Systems, an international health care firm.

We are looking for feedback…should we do more of these events? With this same speaker, different speaker?  Any and all ideas are welcome.

Feedback on the event from participants

- A great learning venue. I liked the format. I hope you host another one just like it because I wish I could have attend more of the sessions.
- Two of the three sessions I attended were primarily product-focused, but my company is B2B services-driven. It would have been nice to have the presentations relate to services, as well.
- I liked the idea that we could vote on the topics to cover ahead of time, and that there were multiple sessions going on. I thought each presenter was very good and provided useful content and good explanations to those of us still new to this arena.
- Baltimore has a lot of talent and you had them in one spot. Kudos.
- wish I could have seen all the presentations. I feel like I missed out on other valuable advice/experience sharing
- Good overview of a lot of the tools, etc, but I needed a little more on the how to- I came back to office and tried to “tweet,” but am feeling a little lost.
- I’d wrap up w/ a brown bag lunch with all presenters on a Q & A panel. I left w/ some new questions….
- Make the classes a bit longer. Good job on a whole, I will attend again…
- Add email as a subject. I think this would be a great draw.
- More case studies
- Some of the conference rooms were a little too small but other than that everything was great…even the coffee and food!

WebConnection Sought Out

Michael Rosenfeld, Managing Partner of WebConnection, was recently interviewed by Entrepreneur Magazine for strategies to create successful web initiatives in Retail and Professional Services web sites. Due to his extensive Internet Consulting background, he provided advice on how to design, market and measure a successful web site. Michael also offered insight on practices to avoid - those that would either discourage or distract a visitor from completing the desired goals of the site.
