BVU Nonprofits & Technology 3/19/10

Nurturing Baltimores Innovative Ecosystem - Connecting GBTC Members & Nonprofits

Have you wondered how you can give back to the local community, but don't know how or where to get started?

Do you know how your skill set can benefit local nonprofits

Would you like to support and continue to build stronger ties between the business and nonprofit industry?

If so, this is your opportunity to attend a FREE lunch to discuss how to get more involved and connected. Through our partnership with Business Volunteers Unlimited and the Emerging Technology Center, local nonprofits will attend and provide background on their business and technology improvement needs. Our members will have the opportunity to partner up with the nonprofits to offer assistance and support.

What is it?
GBTC members will be given the opportunity to review the slate of nonprofit challenges (see below) and meet with the nonprofit executives to discuss their needs. The short consulting sessions (~60 to 90 minute) will allow the opportunities to be discussed in more depth and allow you to meet the nonprofit executives face-to-face.

Who should register?
GBTC members (all skill levels are welcome) who are interested in connecting and giving back to the local community. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR THE FREE LUNCH!

3/19/10 at the Emerging Technology Center,11:30 am - 1:30 pm
2400 Boston Street, Baltimore MD 21144 (3rd Floor Conference Room - entrance is next to Lens Crafters)

How does it work?
Nonprofit attendees and GBTC member consultants will arrive at 11:30 am for lunch and some opening remarks on emerging trends in Information Technology. Between 12:00 and 12:30, nonprofit attendees will pair up with 1-2 consultants to discuss their specific project needs. At the end of the event, pairs will exchange contact information if there is potential for ongoing work. Member consultants for the event will be chosen based on the IT needs submitted on the nonprofit registration forms below.
